Tourist Visa to Turkey

Tourist Visa to Turkey

Overview of the Visa to Turkey, or Visas in General

A visa is prior permission granted to foreign nationals to enter the territory of a given country, whether for tourism or other purposes. Turkey grants citizens of some countries permission to enter without a visa (for example, Jordan and Lebanon), or an e-Visa that can be applied for online (for example, Egyptian citizens, subject to an age condition), or a visa on arrival upon entering Turkey (for example, Canadian citizens). The most common type among Arab nationals is the standard sticker visa, applied for at the diplomatic mission — either the Turkish embassy or consulate — in the country where you wish to apply. This requires a prior appointment and is subject to certain requirements and conditions; it may be granted, or it may be refused. You can check our articles section, and the section related to the Turkish visa, for comprehensive, complete details and all the information needed to increase your chances of approval. Turkey is, of course, one of the most sought-after tourist destinations, whether in summer or winter, thanks to its mild climate, reasonable prices, and ease of access via airports as well as land and sea border crossings. Let's not forget its unique climatic diversity of mountains, forests, seas, and rivers — plus its rich historical heritage.

Some Additional Documents That May Be Requested to Enter Turkey

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, travelers may be asked to show a negative PCR test result taken within the last 24 hours, or a vaccination certificate showing at least two doses, before boarding their flight to Turkey. You can verify this requirement with the airline that will be flying you to Turkey after booking your ticket.

If this is your first entry, you may be asked to fill out an online form and keep it as a PDF copy — a declaration of your place of residence in Turkey, whether that is a hotel, a friend's apartment, or a relative's home.
